How to get a DeepSeek API key
DeepSeek is usually the cheapest per-token option of the providers TalkingSheet supports.
Steps
Go to the DeepSeek Platform
Open platform.deepseek.com and sign up or sign in.
Open API keys
In the left sidebar, click API keys.
Create a new key
Click Create new API key, name it "TalkingSheet", and confirm.
Copy it immediately
Your key (it starts with sk-) is shown once — copy it before closing the dialog.
Top up your balance
DeepSeek is prepaid. Go to Billingand add funds — even a small amount covers a lot of usage at DeepSeek's prices.
Now add it to TalkingSheet
Open the add-on sidebar → Settings → turn on Use my own API key → pick DeepSeek → paste your key → Save. Your key stays in your own Google account's storage — it never touches TalkingSheet's servers. See how BYOK works for details.
